With more than 200 companies and six universities engaged in this high-growth field, the Carolinas combine to create the largest set of photonics resources in the world.

Carolinas Photonics Consortium
The Carolinas Photonics Consortium (CPC) is a collaboration of six universities—each with nationally respected programs in photonics. Created in 2006 with funding from the University of North Carolina System, the CPC actively promotes the regional photonics cluster and works with member universities to commercialize new technologies.
