Raleigh’s mid-Atlantic location means residents enjoy four distinct seasons. With that said, three of them (spring, summer and fall) dominate the year. Even though we do get the occasional snowfall, winters here tend to be pretty short and mild. If that’s a problem, say for the snowboard lover in your family, rest assured plenty of snow and slopes can be found just a quick 3-hour ride away in the mountains of western North Carolina and Virgina.
For those happy to leave the snow behind, Raleigh offers you year-round outdoor activities like hiking, biking, golfing, running, etc. Boating year round would be a bit of a stretch, but someone’s probably doing it.
